Nebraska Birth Records: Discover Your Loved One's True Identity

Birth records are considered part of a state and local government's vital records database, stored for the public to freely examine and use for their own research and information. These records often include copies of official birth certificates, which will provide you with the following information:

  • Date and place of birth
  • Full birth name
  • Full names of parents and their personal identifying information

Search Nebraska Birth Records at SearchBirthRecord.com

Nebraska did not start its statewide vital recording of significant events, such as births, until 1904, though full compliance was only achieved seven years after. If you wish to obtain certified copies of birth records that occurred prior to 1904, you may contact the clerk of the county where the birth happened, while for births after 1904 up to the present, you may communicate with the Vital Records of the Nebraska Department of Health. Before you could gain access to these documents though, your name should first appear on the requested certificate, or you must be an immediate family member or a legal representative who holds a court order. In addition, you must submit a completed application form, a valid government/state-issued photo ID and the required non-refundable fee of $12, which you may pay via money order or personal check made payable to the Vital Records. You will be notified through a letter if your requested document has not been found or if you have failed to meet the abovementioned requirements. If you avail of their fax service though, you must make sure that your photo ID is enlarged and clear. In addition, you may avail of their mailing and phone services, while you may also process your documents online for a more convenient and faster transaction. Using this online service, you are required to pay via your credit card.
