First, you may personally visit their Office and fill up an application form. You must then  present a valid photo ID along with the standard search fee of $26. Senior citizens are exempted in this standard fee for they may pay only pay  $7 if they process their birth certificates themselves.  These payments can be paid via money order or personal check made payable to the State of Michigan. Next, you may avail of ther mail service, which takes about 4-6 weeks of processing, or you may use their expedited mailing, which will only take about 3-4 weeks of processing. Meanwhile, you may also experience more convenience and faster transaction when you process your documents online. A United Parcel Service (UPS) will only take about 1-2 working days for your documents to be processed, while the standard online service will take about 2 weeks to be finished. Furthermore, you are required to pay the addtional service fee of $10 and another $8.50 credit card handling fee. You should know though, that these electronic processes are only available for clients who have their names printed on the requested birth record.
