These records often include copies of official birth certificates, which will provide you with the following information:

Maryland began its statewide vital recording in August 1898, while one of its city, Baltimore, had birth records that date back as early as January 1875. These significant documents are found in the Division of Vital Records of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Before you could request to any of these restricted documents, you must first qualify to do so, meaning your name should appear on the requested record or you must be an immediate family member by blood or marriage, or a legal representative, who can present a letter that is signed by the registrant himself or a family member and should be certified by a notary public. Next, you must be able to present a valid government-issued picture identification or if unable to do so, you must submit a copy of any two of the following: current car registration, bank statement, pay stub, lease/rental agreement, copy of income tax return or utility bill. Subsequently, you must enclose the service fee of $12, which may be paid via money order or personal check made payable to the Division of Vital Records. Also, aside from their walk-in, mailing and phone service, you may also process your documents online for a faster and more convenient transaction. Lastly, the Division of Vital Records also issues Commemorative Birth Certificate for $30.
